VELUX VSS solar powered "Fresh Air" skylights light up your home and provide ventilation using only the power of the sun. They feature a solar panel that captures any available daylight and uses it to recharge a highly efficient battery powered operator and control system. The solar panel does not have to be exposed to direct sunlight to function, so it will work on cloudy days and with indirect light. The skylight can be opened to create a chimney effect, drawing air upward to improve air quality within your home. In addition, this model includes a factory-installed solar powered room darkening blind that utilizes a double-pleated honeycomb structure with an interior aluminum coating to block even the brightest sunlight, making it ideal for bedrooms, entertainment rooms or any other space where light control is important.
- VELUX solar powered "Fresh Air" Skylights require no wiring and are eligible for a federal tax credit, including product and installation costs, making them very affordable
- Qualifies for a 10-year "No Leak" installation warranty when installed with EDL C06 flashing on a shingle roof with a pitch between 14° and 85°, EDW C01 on a tile roof, or EDM C01 on a metal roof (flashing kits are sold separately)
- An integrated rain sensor will close the skylight automatically, in case of inclement weather
- Easy to use remote controls and insect screen are included
- Order VELUX EDL C06 flashing if you have a shingle, shake, or slate roof, or VELUX EDM C01 flashing if you have a metal roof
