The transmission slip yoke may have one or two missing splines inside the barrel known as blind spots. Each blind spot counts as one spline in the total spline count. The blind spots do not affect the fit of the yoke on your output shaft.

Some slip yokes have missing splines. To verify spline count, always count the splines on the transmission output shaft. A slip yoke counterbore is a short lead without spline in the end of the yoke.
